Avinash Tiwary to romance Aditi Rao Hydari in Imtiaz Ali’s next – Report

Recently Imtiaz Ali had finalised a romantic comedy titled Idiots of Istanbul, starring Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri. Shortly after, it was reported that the filmmaker was also working on a period love story featuring Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. Now, it has been learned that Imtiaz Ali’s immediate next project is a deeply romantic film led by Avinash Tiwary and Aditi Rao Hydari.

According to Pinkvilla, Imtiaz is set to commence filming for his next directorial venture at the end of February. “Imtiaz Ali is set to direct his Laila Majnu hero, Avinash Tiwary, alongside Aditi Rao Hydari in a pure, intense romantic tale. It goes on floors in India from February 26 and will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule,” revealed a source.

The filmmaker plans to complete work on this yet-to-be-titled film by the summer of 2025, after which he will move on to the period love story revolving around the lives of three couples. “It is only after finishing these two films that he will proceed with the romantic comedy starring Fahadh Faasil and Triptii Dimri, tentatively titled Idiots of Istanbul,” the source added.

This marks the first time in his career that Imtiaz has lined up three films back-to-back. “Imtiaz spent the last year developing three scripts and is now ready to roll with them in a short span of time. He believes that each story is unique and has the potential to captivate audiences,” the source concluded.
